  48. Your "understanding" depends on where in the circuit you plan to connect
  49. the output of the G3RUH and how you have the audio gain and limiting set
  50. up.  The stock MICOR wants to see about 90 mv of audio on the mic input
  51. lead to provide 3.2 kHz of (unclipped) deviation on the carrier.  A
  52. properly aligned transmitter (per the factory manual) will have the
  53. transmitter deviation control set so you CAN'T reach or exceed 5 kHz
  54. deviation, and the limiting action will start at about 3.5 kHz.  Yes, you
  55. can crank up the limit pot, but since the receiver's reasonably
  56. phase-linear bandwidth is only +/- 6.0 kHz wide anyhow, it won't help much.
  57.  You will have to remove much of the Tx audio stages' audio shaping
  58. circuitry, which will affect the gain and therefore the signal level
  59. required for proper deviation into the companion receiver at the other end.

  90. Actually the best place was right in the station's "1010 WINS" nickname.
  91. The authorized call letters are WINS and the frequency is 1010 kHz.  You
  92. can calculate the wavelength by knowing that (wavelength -in meters) times
  93. (frequency -in kHz) equals 300,000.  No, we don't do homework assignments
  94. while on the superhighway, we're too busy watching out for bad drivers!

  115. all the help is in German and there is no manual at all.

  140. Twice I've posted querries to the Linux-Help@NEWS-DIGESTS.MIT.EDU and had
  141. only had one reply, that I solve my SCSI problems with a fan! Not having
  142. news service, I recently canceled my subscription to the Linux Help Digest,
  143. its signal to noise ratio was too low.

  146. a ham to save money. I grant that one may have lots of fun in amateur radio

  180. problem.  If you ordered the 'C50 DSK, you will have to make a few
  181. changes and re-assembly any 'C26 software.

  203. Today I distributed NET_Mac2.3.43.sea.hqx...

  205. For those who don't know NET/Mac...   NET/Mac is the application that
  206. supports TCP/IP over packet-radio, which means, that hamradio operators
  207. can use NET/Mac for their wireless TCP/IP network...
  208.  
  209. In this version of NET/Mac I implemented the following:
  210.  
  211. - Fix for mods that prompt for username and password
  212. - Some minor mods for the 'rdate' command
  213. - The NET/Mac versionnumber will now be recorded to TRACE-files
  214. - Align the output of 't s' for large-memory Macintoshes
  215.  
  216. This version obsoletes all versions of info-mac/comm/radio-net-mac in
  217. the Sumex-Aim archives.
  218.  
  219. The new NET/Mac has (hopefully) been uploaded to:
  220. ftp.ucsd.edu, to the directory hamradio/packet/tcpip/incoming.
  221. If it's not there then look at hamradio/packet/tcpip/mac.
